Triptych Brewing is hiring a taproom server. Our taproom often provides customers with their first Triptych experience, and as such, it represents a key part of our business. We endeavor to provide excellent service and hospitality to turn one-time visitors into repeat customers. To that end, we are looking for approachable, knowledgeable, and affable individuals who like people and are dedicated to making our taproom experience awesome!

The ideal candidate will not only be excited to join our taproom team to help us continue growing Triptych, but will also have:

• The ability to make all guests feel welcome and provide friendly, courteous, and timely service

• The ability to self-supervise the completion of task checklists during opening and closing

• The ability to help maintain the cleanliness of the taproom

• A flexible schedule that will include weekends, evenings, holidays, and the ability to cover shifts of your coworkers when needed, plus the ability to work at least 3 scheduled shifts each week

• A basic familiarity with computers and the internet to allow for interactions with our point-of-sale software

• A desire to educate customers about beer, brewing, and Triptych

• The ability to become TIPS certified within 1 week of being hired and to maintain that certification

• The ability to lift up to 55 pounds overhead & team-lift kegs (approx.. 160 pounds)

• The ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time

Taproom servers report directly to our taproom manager. General duties include pouring beer for customers, processing payments through our point of sale system (Square), bussing tables, washing glassware, cleaning the taproom, restocking merchandise & beer as needed, and light cleaning duties. From time to time, our taproom servers may also be expected to serve beer outside of the taproom at events or festivals.

This job is an hourly position, and every hour, including hours spent on other duties as assigned, will be compensated for. There is an occasional opportunity for overtime pay in this position. The hourly wage for this position will start at $ 18.50 per hour. This position will also include six paid holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day) and paid leave after a probationary period. We anticipate, but cannot guarantee, that this position will work 35-40 hours weekly. We expect that most of these hours on weekdays will be between 3 pm and 11 pm, and on weekends, 12 pm to 11 pm.

Triptych is a craft brewery in Savoy, Illinois, owned by four friends and operated by one of the owners, a passionate home brewer turned professional.
