About the Role

We are seeking experienced talent to join our Audit Department. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of clients across industries, lead audit engagements, and mentor staff while developing expertise. Individuals at this level typically have had a minimum of two years’ experience as a senior associate (or at least five years of industry experience) and normally have passed the CPA exam.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Plan, supervise, and complete routine engagements while increasing technical knowledge and ensuring compliance with accounting standards in their assigned areas
  • Assign work to and supervise associates and senior associates based on their knowledge and capabilities as well as provide feedback to them and evaluate their progress.
  • Demonstrate project management skills; understand scope, milestones, and budget; and identifies roadblocks and meets deadlines
  • Analyze and interpret complex financial data, identifying key insights and recommendations
  • Continue to develop internal/external networks to grow one’s career and deliver client service excellence through an integrated service approach
  • Begin developing new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm and recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
  • Stay current with emerging accounting trends, technologies, and regulatory updates

Skills & Competencies

  • Prior experience as a direct supervisor for a staff consisting of different professional level
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively while maintaining engagement oversight
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions
  • Relationship-building skills to foster long-term client and team connections

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and audit methodologies
  • Proficiency with accounting and audit software applications (e.g., CaseWare, CCH, or similar)
  • Experience with internal controls assessment and risk-based auditing approaches
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in accounting and auditing

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Licensed CPA (or in the process of obtaining)
  • Proficiency in using accounting/audit software applications and Microsoft Office & Teams
  • Audit professionals are expected to work in-person at MH office or client site (remote work available with approval); some client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay

Compensation

At M|H, compensation is designed to reflect an individual’s experience, qualifications, and market conditions within their role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns) for this position takes multiple factors into account, including education, relevant skills, work experience, certifications, and location. As a result, the final offer for the selected candidate(s) may fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $75,000 – 85,000

This position is bonus eligible.
