Overview

The Transition to Practice Program Coach provides staff hired into the program with ongoing guidance to achieve their greatest potential. Responsible for monitoring onboarding / orientation process and implementing changes. Conducts and facilitates classroom and on the job training to synthesize knowledge, increase skill development and promote interpersonal growth. Works closely with preceptors and unit leadership. Completes and evaluates benchmark data for each orientee. Aids in the planning and execution of program events. Provides a high level of support to staff hired through the program to support strong retention and engagement.

Responsibilities

Monitors and completes competency modules
Support staff through intensive rounding in department and individual coaching sessions
Collaborate with team members to develop schedules and create preceptor assignments
Conducts analysis through the onboarding / orientation process to assure advancement of skill and provision of safe patient care
Conducts classroom orientation using a variety of learning methods
Support staff during dayshift and nightshift hours / weekends
Maintain clear communication with unit leadership teams
Support recruitment and retention events as needed
Provides direct patient care when on the unit.
Shadow staff to ensure the progression of skills. Support staff through rounding and follow-up. Complete all mandatory training and competency modules.

Qualifications

Certifications: Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA), Education: College Diploma: Nursing; Bachelor's Degree: Nursing; H.S. Diploma/GED, Work Experience: Related field

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $19.37per hour - $31.38per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
