Overview

This position is based in Champaign, Illinois or Bloomington-Normal, Illinois.

Develops communication strategies targeted to internal and/or external audiences based on identified service lines. These could include employees, physicians, board members, media, general public and others to keep staff, patients and members informed and engaged. Writes and edits stories and messaging for consistency across all audiences and determines the most appropriate communications vehicles or channels. Collaborates with others in the department to lead and support communications channels, including the corporate intranet, and supports other organizational initiatives as determined.

Responsibilities

Assists in developing special projects as assigned and needed.Develops and implements effective communications plans to support the organization’s long- and short-term strategic plans.Develops communications content that informs key audiences with the goal of educating about Carle’s position or services. Subject matter will often be complex and the ability to communicate clearly and tailor the message is required. This will include research, writing, editing and coordinating approvals in a timely manner.Oversees aspects of special events for the organization to ensure the events are aligned with the Carle brand and business objectives, meet goals and reinforce the positive image of the organization.As part of the corporate communications team, maintains readiness for crisis communications through training, preparedness, responses and planning.Completes Corporate Reports such as the Annual Report and Community Benefit Report.Generates innovative ideas; challenges traditional ways of thinking and approaches to work problems.Interviews, writes and edits copy, and takes routine photos or video in support of communications projects.Potential responsibilities overseeing portions of Carle’s corporate network, posting stories, videos and information that support the Carle culture.Serves as liaison with key internal departments and build external relationships.Ensure materials produced by Carle adhere to legal and compliance mandates for ADA and other laws.Track results and maintain appropriate databases as needed.

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $27.48per hour - $45.89per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
