Overview
Responsibilities
- Manage phone lines: Answer incoming calls and route inquiries or escalate concerns to the pharmacist.
- Outreach: Complete INR reminder calls and notify patients of normal INR results.
- Information gathering: Collect general, non-clinical patient data during phone interactions.
- Prescription management: Accurately enter prescription refill requests.
- Scheduling: Book patient INR appointments and manage scheduling changes.
- Coordination: Contact outside medical facilities to retrieve missing INR results or medication records.
- System updates: Input external INR lab results into patient electronic profiles.
- Profile maintenance: Enter and update patient information for new and existing patients.
- Order processing: Manage documentation for AMS enrollments, renewals, and provider changes.
- Identify patient needs: Immediately alert the AMS Pharmacist when patient responses or data require clinical judgment or pharmacist intervention.
- License: Illinois Pharmacy Technician Registration/Certification requirements, e.g., CPhT.
- Skills: Excellent phone etiquette, strong data entry accuracy, and exceptional organizational skills.
- Tech savvy: Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy management systems preferred.
- Team player: Ability to work well with other clinical staff.
Qualifications
- Education Requirements: High school diploma, or G.E.D.
- Work Experience: Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred
