Overview

The Director of Nursing leads patient care, placing a high degree of emphasis on establishing workflows and processes aligned with Carle values to promote excellent patient care and outcomes. Responsibilities include staffing, leadership development, succession planning, clinical practice, strategic growth, budgeting, quality, collaborative relationships and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Tests Performed:

  • Performs only those CLIA tests that are authorized by the laboratory director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individual's education, training or experience, and technical abilities.

Lab Procedures:

  • Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.

Record Maintenance:

  • Maintains records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.

Quality Control:

  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.

Corrective Action Policies:

  • Follow the laboratory's established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.

Corrective Action Documentation:

  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications

Problem Identification:

  • Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the technical consultant, clinical consultant or director

Qualifications

Certifications:

  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN, IL) and
  • National Nursing Certification

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing and
  • Master's Degree - Related Field

Work Experience:

  • Nursing - 10 years
  • Leadership - 5 years

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $62.33per hour - $107.21per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
