Overview
Responsibilities
Collects data on assigned patients as directed by Registered Nurse (RN) and ensures accurate documentation.
Demonstrates competency in selected psychomotor skills as outlined in the skills checklist including: measurement of vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and measuring and recording intake and output.
Performs or assists patients with the activities of daily living. Prepares patients for transportation and/or transport.
Acts as mentor to new Health Care Tech employees and contributes to the orientation and training of staff.
Participates in unit PI projects. Is an active member of unit partnership council, unit committees and or projects.
Acts as a role model and supports management initiatives for the department. Seeks out additional learning experiences and shares knowledge with others.
Escorts patients to prep/recovery room Obtains and documents vital signs Assists the RN, provides care to patients that is within their scope as directed by the RN Endoscope reprocessing Escorts patients to car in wheelchair after discharge Completes daily tasks of the unit- making beds, organizing department, stocking supplies Completes discharge follow up calls
