JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) the Patient Sitter provides a high level of customer service and support to Carle patients by assuring patient safety at bedside and by distributing supplies throughout the department when there are no sitter needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Sits with patient to assure safety.
• Provides calm and caring presence at bedside.
• Informs RN, HCT, or next available medical personnel of any emergent event or behavior change experienced by the patient.
• Constantly monitor patient visually to ensure patient does not fall or pull lines / tube or attempt to harm themselves.
• Stocks supplies throughout the department when there is not a sitter need.
