Job title:  Technical Project Specialist

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated Technical Project Specialist to join the Academic Innovation Support Group. The Technical Project Specialist is not just another team member in the Academic Innovation Support Group. They are a key advocate, driving the group's innovative initiatives across a wide range of academic landscapes. The Academic Innovation Support Group at Wolfram Research is committed to fostering and enhancing innovative practices within the academic community. We provide cutting-edge tools, resources and training to researchers, educators and students, enabling them to excel in their pursuits.

Responsibilities

  • Executing strategic communication plans for a range of programs, including personalized conversations, workshop series, and the Wolfram Summer School and Winter School
  • Utilizing various channels, including email, Zoom and LinkedIn, to promote and deliver these programs to universities, community colleges, national labs and academic-related parties
  • Conducting one-on-one Zoom, email and in-person conversations with key stakeholders
  • Independently managing assigned projects and tasks, regularly tracking and documenting the progress of these projects, and ensuring that objectives are being met on time and to standard
  • Maintaining organization in all work aspects and ensuring the relevant documentation is kept up to date
  • Consistently taking proactive action to move projects forward and addressing any issues or bottlenecks that may arise
  • Regularly reporting to upper management on individual work progress and collaborating with the team to provide updates, highlighting successes and opportunities to present to upper management
  • Promptly and professionally handling other outreach tasks as requested

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively conducting email and one-on-one Zoom conversations with stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in a computation-related field, such as data science, or a related discipline
  • Proficient in the use of various communication channels, including email, Zoom and LinkedIn
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage, track and document projects and tasks, ensuring their timely completion
  • Ability to present information effectively to a range of audiences
  • Proven experience handling tasks as requested and adjusting to changes in priorities or objectives

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree in a computation-related field, such as data science, or a related discipline

Location: Fully remote and seeking candidates from Mexico, Colombia and Peru
Job type: Full time (40 hours per week)/Independent Contractor
Salary: Dependent on location, candidate's background and experience
Reporting to:  Academic Innovation Programs Manager
