This is a salaried, exempt, and full-time management position with benefits. Under general direction from the Chief Administrative Officer (Village Administrator), this position works to support the Village Administrator in the effective and efficient operations of the municipality. As a collaborative member of the Village’s leadership team, the Deputy Village Administrator assists in the oversight of Village departments, program, and initiatives. The Deputy Village Administrator performs complex administrative, technical, professional, and special project work to support the Village Administrator and may act as Village Administrator during the absence or incapacity of the Village Administrator. Corporation responsibilities and assigned projects will be determined based on the complimentary skills and experience of the selected candidate, in addition to their desired career development goals.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, political science, business management, or a closely related field.

Five (5) years of experience in municipal management with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a comparably sized municipal, state, or federal organization.

Must possess, and subsequently maintain, a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Must be bondable.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, political science, business management, or a closely related field.

Credentialed Manager designation through the International City/County Management Association.
Compensation and Benefit Package
The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Additionally, the Village offers free individual membership to the Village’s Recreation Center; a comprehensive benefit package that includes paid vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, individual life insurance; 100% employer-paid comprehensive health insurance (employee pays 50% of premiums for dependents); and enrollment in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
