The Village of Savoy, Illinois (population 8,857), seeks qualified and motivated candidates or the position of Operations Supervisor. This supervisor will be assigned to oversee the Department’s Building Maintenance operations. This is an hourly full-time non-exempt position that works under the direct supervision of the Operations Superintendent and assigned members of Management. This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work and operates a variety of equipment, tools, and supervises employees to accomplish the repair of the Village’s public facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).

• Post-secondary education relevant to Public Works maintenance or similar experience in maintenance and operations.

• Currently has a CDL-Class B driver’s license, and Air Brake and Tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain this license within 90 days of employment.

• Four (4) years of experience relating to one or more of the following work areas: building maintenance, building remodel work, construction, or general maintenance work.

• Work experience that demonstrates the ability to teach and leader others.

• An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently has a CDL-Class B, and Air Brake and Tanker endorsements.

• Currently has State of Illinois Pesticide Operators License.

• Experience with snow and ice response including plowing and de-icing agent application.

• Experience with building maintenance and remodeling involving basic electrical and plumbing repair and refurbishments of interior finishes.

• Six (6) years of experience relating to construction, maintenance, or repair of the municipal infrastructure, buildings, and parks or similar with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Compensation and Benefit Package

The anticipated starting hourly wage for this position is $26.00 per hour. However, the hourly rate may range depending on qualifications.
