TITLE: 21st CCLC After School Programming Support Staff (Multiple Positions Available)

LOCATION: Thomas Paine Elementary

SUPERVISOR: This position reports directly to the teacher(s), coordinator, building administration and/or Director of Grants.

SUPERVISES: Students

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:

  1. Answer questions and provide a reteach of information to students participating in the program.
  2. Actively participate in the program, contribute to daily instruction, and complete all assigned tasks.
  3. Initiate and encourage students attending the program. Maintain a positive relationship with the students and staff working in the program.
  4. Ask for guidance and assistance from the teacher and/or coordinator when unable to assist a student.
  5. Monitor and supervise the students within assigned areas of the school.
  6. Support positive approaches for dealing with student behavior
  7. Utilize de-escalation strategies when needed.
  8. Arrive and depart on time for your scheduled work.
  9. Work with small groups on skill-building activities
  10. Perform other specialized duties as assigned. (i.e. taking attendance, snack counts, program arrival and departure times)

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  1. Associate’s Degree or 60 hours of college credit required.
  2. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  1. Experience working in a school setting
  2. Prior experience working for USD 116 Afterschool Program is preferred
  3. Internal applicants only

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. De-escalation strategies, social and emotional learning strategies, and relationship building skills
  2. Leadership skills
  3. Position requires self-initiative and active engagement and participation throughout the day.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Hourly position and assigned number of hours/days.
  2. Position is for September 8, 2026 - May 20, 2027, Monday through Thursday.
  3. Specific hours to be determined by the coordinator/building administrator/director.
  4. Orientation meeting scheduled prior to the program startup.
  5. Stipend

START DATE: August 10, 2026 as scheduled.

NOTE:

This position is not part of the collective bargaining unit and is not administrative in nature.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on support staff
