TITLE: Technology Intern (2 Positions)
LOCATION: Central Office
SUPERVISOR: Chief Information Officer
JOB SUMMARY: The Technology Intern will assist IT staff with maintaining the continuity of computer system services for USD students and staff, by providing technical expertise and problem resolution. The Technology Intern will receive a practical, professional experience that will enhance and complement their classroom learning. IT staff will coach, mentor, and support the professional development of the Technology Intern, allowing him/her to gain hands-on technical experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Configures and deploys end-user devices
- Assists with moving technology equipment between buildings
- Keeps Technology staff informed of work progress, and requests support or guidance when needed Assist with installing new network equipment and network cabling
- Assist with Chromebook imaging and deployment Performs other related job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of computer system best practices and security principles
- Ability to install cameras and other network equipment in and around District buildings
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Salary rate is $16/hour
- This is a position not within the collective bargaining unit and is not an administrative position.
- This is not an exempt position.
- This is a Summer Position and Contact Days are stipulated by the Chief Information Officer.
- Part time 20-30 hours per week
