TITLE: Case Manager/IEP Writer

LOCATION: District Wide

SUPERVISOR: Building Administrator(s), Executive Director of Student Services, Special Education Administrator

JOB SUMMARY: The Case Manager/IEP writer will coordinate the IEP process, which includes but is not limited to writing the IEP, facilitating IEP meetings, and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records for assigned students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Coordinate the IEP process, which includes but is not limited to writing the IEP, facilitating IEP meetings, and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records for all students on caseload, including quarterly progress reports.
  • Support the completion of progress monitoring.
  • Consult and collaborate with staff members about student needs and progress to facilitate the development of a meaningful IEP
  • Schedule, complete, and document all required parent communication in preparation for IEP in compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Lead IEP meetings as a member of the IEP team.
  • Support school teams in collecting and compiling data for all services in the IEPs.
  • Ensure legal compliance with special education timelines and requirements.
  • Prepare materials for annual reviews and EDCs
  • Communicate instructional and behavioral strategies and accommodations/BIPS to all necessary staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • Illinois LBS1 Certificate/Licensure must meet the highly qualified status

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of instructional or resource experience is preferred except in the case of a new graduate.

  • Highly organized
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: $32 an hour, as needed depending on the number of students assigned
