Event Support StaffChampaign Park District – Part-Time 2 (not to exceed 19 hours per week or 1,000 hours in an anniversary year)


About the Job:Help bring our community events to life! As Event Support Staff, you’ll play an important role in ensuring Park District festivals, concerts, and special events run smoothly. From setting up spaces and supporting vendors to assisting guests and overseeing attractions, you’ll be part of a team that creates fun, safe, and memorable experiences for our community.


Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the setup, execution, and takedown of special events.
  • Coordinate logistics such as scheduling, vendor needs, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to attendees, including check-ins, answering questions, and giving directions.
  • Support volunteers and vendors, offering guidance and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Oversee event activities, attractions, and safety protocols.
  • Participate in post-event cleanup and organization.
  • Ensure all events meet safety, accessibility, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in event planning or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of park and recreation programming a plus.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
