Duties Responsibilities Intramurals Work closely with the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports and Community Programs and the Community Programs Coordinator to offer an inclusive, innovative, and accessible Intramural Activities program. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports and Community Programs, assist with training, developing, evaluating, scheduling, managing, and promoting numerous part-time student staff positions Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports and Community Programs, assist with planning, developing, scheduling, and maintaining a comprehensive Intramural Program Collaborate with other university and Campus Recreation departments for the successful implementation of new programming effort. Assist with coordination of program outreach efforts and initiate new campus partnerships. Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and present new initiatives each semester. Disseminate established risk management plans and ensure that they are implemented effectively. Recommend new ideas, sports, and opportunities for the growth of intramural activities Develop, attend and evaluate all sport official’s trainings for intramural activities Assist in the creation of the semester sport calendar, participant rewards, and weekly staff meetings Serve as primary back-up for payroll for all part-time staff within intramural activities. Community Programs Develop, coordinate, manage, and evaluate Campus Recreation’s 8 week summer camp and other community program initiatives. Hire, train, evaluate, promote student community programs staff tasked with organizing and managing all community program offerings. Schedule, plan, and implement reservations for all community program offerings. Assist in the creation of summer camp policies, pricing packages, and employee handbooks. Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and present new initiatives each summer. Evaluate program satisfaction and needs assessment annually and implement strategies for retention and growth. Assist with planning and implementation of Community Program events during the school year as needed. Support the University of Illinois' commitment to child abuse prevention as a mandatory reporter. Club Sports Assist the Assistant Director as needed to structure an organized and equitable Club Sport program. Work cooperatively with Campus Recreation and Student Engagement staff to assist with the administration of over 40 club sports as needed. Collaborate with multiple different Campus Recreation areas to provide a cohesive club sports practice schedule. Serve as primary back-up for payroll for all part-time staff within club sports. Departmental Duties Manage an annual budget for competitive sports and community programs. Attend state and regional professional development conferences and workshops. Support and engage with NIRSA sport tournaments for yearly professional development Serve on Department, Division and/or University committees as assigned. Manage special projects that support the overall mission of Campus Recreation. Participate as a member of the Campus Recreation professional staff in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Participate in the development of programs, departmental objectives, and long-range planning by performing research, providing recommendations, and implementing plans as appropriate. Follow University and department cash handling policies and procedures. Enforce and maintain Campus Recreation policies and procedures as they pertain to usage of facilities on campus.
