Duties Responsibilities Plumbing Operations Perform duties particular to and normally required in the trade of plumber, following recognized procedures and techniques for such work. Plans, schedules, supervises, monitors, and directs the work of Housing Plumbers and reviews completed work to ensure compliance with applicable plumbing codes and University building standards. Prioritizes plumbing work assignments and coordinates responses to urgent maintenance and repair needs. Maintenance Coordination Works closely with the Maintenance department, engineers, Supervisor of Building Craftsmen, and the Associate Director for Maintenance Operations to meet the plumbing maintenance requirements of University Housing. Assists in the development and management of preventative maintenance programs related to plumbing systems and equipment. Determines material and supply needs and coordinates the ordering of materials necessary to complete plumbing work. Maintains records of plumbing work completed, including material orders, and inventories of tools and equipment. Supervisory Responsibilities Provides recommendations related to hiring and disciplinary activities. Utilizes University Housing's timekeeping system to review and approve employee timecards and monitors the work performance of Housing Plumbers. Provides direction and feedback to Housing Plumbers and promotes compliance with University and University Housing safety requirements, policies, and procedures. Provides guidance and instruction to Housing Plumbers regarding plumbing procedures, maintenance, and repair work. Other duties as assigned.
