Duties & Responsibilities Provide analysis and support to campus committees such as Illinois Space Advisory Committee, select capital project art-in-architecture committees, and Architectural Review Committee. On a university-wide basis, work with individual colleges and departments to monitor and manage campus space requests and assignments. Consults with colleges and departments to provide project planning in developing the needs for new projects or renovations. Develop transitional space plans for small construction and capital improvement projects that comply with university facility standards, applicable building codes, and accessibility requirements. Work with individual colleges and departments in developing programming requirements for transitional and lease spaces and assist Real Estate Services in vetting potential lease options. Provide relocation assistance including coordination of any renovations and repairs, finish selections, and furnishings needed. Coordinate lease space maintenance and repairs. Assist in the needs and coordination of general assignment classroom renovations, maintenance, and repairs with the capital maintenance planning. Maintain inventory for lease space and classroom furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Monitor campus storage space needs and advise on relocation, storage, and recycling of campus furniture and fixtures. Assists F&S Engineering Design Services, Design Review, and Construction Services with document review for items related to interior design including coordination of furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Provides design assistance and interpretation to the campus partners to help them understand design drawings. Acts as a consultant to Capital Projects project managers for interior design issues throughout the duration of the project by reviewing overall design and furniture selections. Prepares cost estimates and project budgets from all pertinent parties as requested. Assists in the preparation of the scope of professional services required for each project. Attends planning meetings as the campus representative on assigned projects through the Design Development stage. Develops periodic status reports for assigned projects to be used for reporting to Capital Projects, campus partners, colleges, departments, and units. Provides support for written, graphic, and computer presentation materials for various members of the Planning staff. Participates in the selection of professional services consultants. Support the Mission, Vision, Values and Guiding Principles of Facilities & Services. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Project Planning.
