Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Football Recruiting Operations provides championship caliber support to the recruiting efforts of Fighting Illini Football. This staff member will be a valued asset of our recruiting staff, primarily coordinating logistics of recruiting efforts of the coaching staff to enhance the quality and efficiency of recruiting travel and its post trip requirements, including the financial documentation. This position will effectively liaise with coaches and recruiting contacts to positively represent the program and is expected to operate in a manner that promotes a life-changing, student-athlete experience.Duties & Responsibilities
- Recruiting Operations Facilitation –
• Assist in the organization and execution of the football program’s recruiting efforts;
• Plan and coordinate football coach travel to and from campus recruiting visits including practices, competition, high schools and in-home visits;
• Collaborate with third party travel agencies to meet the above initiatives,
• Advise on and effectively communicate to football staff on recruiting trip logistics and trouble shoot situations as they arise;
• Engage in general recruiting correspondence with prospective student-athletes, their families, coaches, and administrators; and
• Communicate with school administrators and coaches, providing details on recruiting visits to their respective institutions while cultivating meaningful relationships. - Financial Operations–
• Maintain and organize assigned expense records of the football program;
• Initiate vendor payments and purchase orders;
• Reimbursements and reconciliation in Chrome River and Purchasing Card Application.
• Function as expense report proxy for the football staff; and
• Collaborates with Financial Operations on related tasks to maintain effective and efficient completion. - On-Campus Recruiting –
• Assist on-campus recruiting team with coordination of official and unofficial visits;
• Engage with recruits and guests during campus visits;
• Engage with local companies, restaurants, venues in the community to involve with recruiting events; and
• Coordinate correspondence with high school coaches for camps, clinics, and general recruiting materials. - Team Operations
• Assist with other team events and projects as needed to help football program; and
• Other duties as assigned by the head coach, chief of staff, or general manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration, Communication, or closely related field Experience: • Required: At least one year of experience working with a collegiate or professional football program, either as player or personnel
Preferred Qualifications
Prior football administrative recruiting experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position is required.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 5/16/2026. Salary range is $55,000 - $70,000 commensurate with experience. Work authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.
