Job Summary
This position manages the College of Applied Health Sciences marketing and communications project management systems—assigning work, setting priorities and deadlines, and tracking project progress and client relations end-to-end. This role is critical to the success of goal-driven marketing and communications collegewide and to building the credibility and excellence of the MarCom team itself. This role ensures timely, accurate, and high-impact projects that are consistent and defined across the five college units, while creating systems and policies, providing real-time feedback, and channeling questions to the appropriate colleagues when needed.Duties & Responsibilities
Project Management Infrastructure, Processes, and Oversight
- Manage the setup and assignment of projects within the team project management system, ensuring deadlines are tracked and projects are delivered on time.
- Create consistent, applied systems for project management and assist with socializing best practices with partners throughout the college.
- Provide client service and consistent communications to project requesters.
- Efficiently coordinate the use of marketing and communications team staff time needed to support the delivery of projects and reinforce accountability for timely, accurate, and goal-driven projects.
- Help to identify and define common use materials like letterhead, design templates, and the use of the style guide.
- Prepare, organize, and manage annual project schedules; determine deliverables and set deadlines, help to identify vendors and estimates as needed.
- Ensure post-project closure, evaluation, and documentation for future use.
- Provide annual project summaries and other data reporting.
Brand Management and Leadership
- Mentor and provide guidance to other members of the marketing and communications team on project management tool usage, adherence to standards, and workflows.
- Assist with brand management across the college and provide resources and training as needed to ensure brand consistency.
- Develop and implement policies and guidelines that govern content accuracy and branding standards set by the college, units, and the university.
- Serve on college or campus committees as needed, representing the unit in a professional, brand-aligned manner.

Special Projects
- Manage and execute a limited portfolio of strategic marketing projects as needed.
- Identify the need for systems, provide research and recommendations, and execute system development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
- One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
- Demonstrated experience in client relations.
- Demonstrated experience with synchronous communications tools and/or collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Drive, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in management, marketing, advertising, business administration, communications, public relations, web design, business analytics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing a broad portfolio of projects.
- Experience in working in a higher education environment, agency, or other small to mid-size marketing team.
- Experience working with Asana or other major project management software.
- CAPM or PMP certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of project management systems, graphic design, marketing, and writing.
- Strong attention to detail, timeliness, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.
- Strong communication skills.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after July 1, 2026. The pre-determined salary range for this position $70,000 - $80,000. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints.
This position is not eligible for any type of sponsorship for work authorization.
