Job Summary

Produce graphic design and website solutions for marketing challenges, as well as to promote the teaching and research of the college. The multimedia graphics specialist will work with and refine the visual system and identity standards used across the university.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design and develop a wide range of digital and print-based communications and marketing materials including reports, newsletters, presentations, brochures, posters, print and online advertisements, email communications, displays, and other materials as needed. Manage projects from conception to completion with a variety of clients, colleagues, students, and vendors.
  • Create, maintain and monitor core college and elective websites. Work with faculty to format and upload lecture materials to deliver curriculum to students.
  • Provide graphic and website design leadership and work collaboratively as a member of the Veterinary Medicine Design Group to create and ensure the visual quality and strategic brand alignment across all Veterinary Medicine communication initiatives (includes print, web, online educational delivery systems, internal business applications and social media).
  • Organize and manage graphic projects for new students, including ID badges, class composites, web directory photo database and printing of research posters.
  • Illustrate simple figures and processes for publications, as well as illustrations for instructional materials. Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.
  • Communicate projects to outside vendors to complete final design product.
  • Oversee wide format printing.
  • Organize and oversee photoshoots with professional photographers.
  • Assume additional related graphic design duties to further the mission of our college.

Additional Physical Demands

Normal office setting. Allergies to hay, straw or animal dander may cause discomfort based on the location within the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
  • One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area, that included graphic design, visual design, or website development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent graphic design skills as well as layout and typography skills.
  • Skill with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Skill in time management, organizing work assignments, and responding quickly and effectively to challenges.
  • Knowledge creation of web graphics as well as limited knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of media production, including social media platforms.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible. The budgeted salary range for the position is $56,000 to $62,000. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
