Duties & Responsibilities
Recruitment & Outreach
- Serve as the dynamic and friendly face of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Present the Illinois brand positively and appropriately in every interaction with students and staff, embodying its values and ethos.
- Empower and guide both domestic and international prospective students, applicants, parents, and secondary school guidance counselors with comprehensive counsel and insights into Illinois’ offerings and admissions processes.
- Craft and execute targeted recruitment & outreach plans in line with the Illinois enrollment strategy.
- Attend high school visits, college fairs, and other specialty events representing the Illinois brand and presenting to attendees.
- Engage and motivate students to explore and enroll at Illinois by actively participating in and maintaining interactive communication through email, telephone, and on-campus visits.
- Forge collaborative partnerships with admissions, college, and departmental teams to orchestrate impactful recruitment events within designated travel regions, leveraging collective strengths for maximum outreach and impact.
- Forge strategic partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and relevant external stakeholders to expand outreach efforts and create mutually beneficial collaborations.
Admissions Operations & Recruitment Support
- Read and evaluate admissions applications, using a holistic view of each applicant to make decisions that align with our campus’s enrollment targets.
- Assist with admissions operational functions.
- Engage in developing and executing communication campaigns, search committees, and various on-campus initiatives.
- Actively participate and contribute to relevant professional organizations.
- Join various admissions-related projects and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid driver’s license
- Customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in presenting to audiences
- One year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to exercise discretion with good judgment, especially concerning sensitive and/or confidential student records
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The budgeted salary range for this position is $42,000-$44,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
