Job Summary
The HR Representative supports a variety of human resources activities and provides administrative support, ensuring quality customer service and both timely and accurate delivery.Duties & Responsibilities
Payroll, Time Reporting, and Leave Management
• Process standard bi-weekly and monthly payroll/timesheets, addressing common timesheet/leave issues and return timesheets/leave requests as needed. Process routine pay adjustments.
• Assist with tracking of FMLA, PLFA, or other managed leave categories. Report significant leave discrepancies to higher level staff for research.
• Inform staff of basic regulations/policies relating to leave usage, time reporting, and payroll deadlines.
Data & Policy
• Maintain and update appropriate records, communicating with employees, supervisors, and others to obtain needed information.
• Run and review routine reports. Compile information with responsibility for accurate data entry and correction of minor discrepancies.
• Contribute to documentation and compliance efforts as assigned, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and procedures.
• Respond to customer inquiries according to established guidelines.
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories below:
i. course work in human resource administration, business administration or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
ii. 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
iii. Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
iv. 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
3. progressively more responsible work experience maintaining, monitoring, and/or processing human resource records and reports, progressively more responsible work experience maintaining, monitoring, and/or processing human resource records and reports.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 2135 - Human Resource Representative position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline. The budgeted salary range for the position is $45,000 - $53,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (remote work and in-person work in Champaign-Urbana each week) after an initial on-site training period, per the University of Illinois workplace flexibility guidelines https://cam.illinois.edu/policies/hr-87-2/ . Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
