Job Summary
Management, operation, maintenance and support of the technical production aspects of a comprehensive audio-visual communication service supporting instruction, outreach, and research needs for the College of Veterinary Medicine.Duties & Responsibilities
- Audio-Visual
• Guide the College’s decision-making process for the design of instructional environments through the evaluation of cost tradeoffs, faculty needs and veterinary medicine trends.
• Coordinate the purchase, installation, and maintenance of audio-visual equipment in college classrooms, rounds rooms, lecture halls and conference rooms. Maintain documents of design and installation of technology utilized in classrooms and conference rooms.
• Manage audio-visual infrastructure projects, from planning through implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
• Perform research to stay informed about emerging audio-visual technologies and industry trends.
• Interact and advise faculty clients through the comprehension of course objectives and technical requirements concerning optimum instructional audio-visual technologies.
• Act as a customer advocate in addressing issues and resolving problems.
• Maintain equipment inventory, identify high-demand items, schedule repairs, and report on space and equipment utilization. Manage the hardware lifecycle for audiovisual components and installations.
• Act as liaison to campus organizations for audio-visual needs. Align College audiovisual with campus standards.
• Provide technical documentation for maintenance of classroom technologies for other team members
• Develop training programs and user documentation of audio-visual services in the College to students, faculty and staff.
• Provide regular systematic training to students, faculty and staff on the use of classroom and conference room technologies. Provide assistance during use of these technologies as requested.
• Provide training and management of Student AV Techs - Infrastructure Support
• Assist the System Administrator as advanced technology consultants and innovators for the College faculty, staff, and units
• Assist System Administrator researching and evaluating new technology products and upgrades
• Assist in the Installation and configuration of workstations, servers, and mobile devices
• Assist System Administrator maintaining patching, security, and other endpoint management of workstations and servers
• Analyze functional and performance issues associated with use of technology, seek advice from peers and senior staff on possible solutions and implement corrective actions in a timely manner
• Identify problems to be solved, propose solutions, obtain approval, and/or escalate appropriately
• Complete work with minimal supervision and demonstrate solid judgment on when and from whom to seek assistance and approval - Other Duties as assigned
• Assume appropriate related additional duties to further the mission of the College

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Any one or any combination totaling five (5) years from the following categories: College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months) Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
Demonstrated experience maintaining and operating audio-visual equipment such as audio systems, projectors, displays, microphones, video conferencing, and control systems. Demonstrated experience providing desktop support to end-users Demonstrated experience troubleshooting computers in an educational environment.
Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Active Directory, including group and object management, policy tasks, access control and authorization
Preferred Qualifications
• A degree in media production, computer science, management information systems or related field.
Experience with cloud storage, local storage, or backup systems
Experience supporting and utilizing performance monitoring tools
Experience with Apple OS and iOS in an enterprise environment
Experience with Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP) servers and services.
Experience in a higher education environment
Experience supporting mobile technology platforms (Examples: tablets, iPads, smartphones)
Experience supporting digital signage.
Demonstrated experience in the application of technology security concepts in an enterprise environment
Demonstrated experience using tools and resources to optimize the delivery of technology services to the end user, such as with endpoint management, imaging, or centralized solutions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skill in managing installation projects with outside vendors in a timely fashion within a budget.
- Ability to work with clients from varied administrative, academic, cultural and linguistic backgrounds utilizing clear, concise written and oral communications.
- Knowledge of instructional technologies and their application in a higher education environment.
- • Ability to work independently with a large degree of latitude to solve problems.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 1/5/2026. Salary range is $64,000-$70,000 per year. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
