Job Summary
The Enterprise Systems Specialist works within a team environment to maintain, optimize, and provide technical support for enterprise-wide applications/systems. Performs project coordination and analytical roles for projects related to Finance, HR/Payroll, and Student areas.Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide highest level understanding of the University's enterprise information systems. Focus includes continued process and workflow analysis, enhanced module functionality, and application/upgrade support.
- Assist users in functional areas to understand and apply best practices and provide subject-matter expertise to internal and external clients as required.
- Manage and coordinate system process configuration to support functional areas.
- Manage and coordinate information systems problem solving, solution development, decision-making, and participate in planning that will further the mission and vision of the current and future business environment.
- Recommend action to improve operations and correct sources of error in information that impacts University Human Resources, Financial and/or Student activities. Facilitate quality improvement efforts.
- Support production critical activities during non-business hours, as needed. This may require evening or weekend hours, depending on the business cycle of the University.
- Keep informed of and apply contemporary technology related to enterprise systems.
- Interact with vendors regarding software upgrades, patches, etc.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned as appropriate for an Enterprise Systems Specialist.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years from the following categories: College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months) Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field. Demonstrated experience with technical support, working with information technology systems, and/or working with data and reporting. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with business and system analysis.
Experience with Oracle Data Base Management System and SQL.
Experience with one or more of the following technical tools: Microsoft Office, Application Manager (or another batch scheduling tool), PL/SQL, Java, other object-oriented concepts.
Experience working in a UNIX (preferably Solaris or Linux) environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system including Finance, Financial Aid, Human Resources, or Student Administration.
- Requisite technical skills to make recommendations on strategy and approach for continued high functionality of enterprise applications in support of the University's vision and strategic plan.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, working with diverse groups of individuals and building partnerships.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently, to be a team leader, and to work as a team member.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and to work with shifting priorities and schedules.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 1/19/2026. The budgeted salary range for the position is $75,000 to $90,000. Salary is commensurate with experience.
