Communications Coordinator - Center for Social and Behavioral Science

Job Summary

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing strategic communication plans that support programs and initiatives for key stakeholders of the Center for Social and Behavioral Science (CSBS).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Content creation, coordination, and management
    • Develop and implement an overarching communication strategy for CSBS that addresses unit goals and key audiences.
    • Create and edit content for CSBS communications channels such as digital newsletters and social media.
    • Create program and project briefs and other materials.
    • Develop and apply unit brand and style guides; ensure all communication deliverables are following University’s communication policies, procedures, and brand guidelines.
    • Update and manage statistics and content related to CSBS history, accomplishments, and pride points.
    • Analyze and report on performance of communication tactics.
  • Marketing and publicity
    • Work with CSBS staff to create and execute marketing plans for all CSBS events and initiatives, including, but not limited to, website content, emails, calendar items, registration forms, and newsletter articles.
    • Oversee and manage all production aspects of CSBS monthly newsletter including serving as writer and content creator.
    • Create and maintain CSBS website content, including web design and development.
    • Maintain CSBS social media channels and digital presence.
    • Maintain CSBS contact lists.
  • Collaboration and communication
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with CSBS leadership and staff.
    • Work collaboratively with marketing and communication colleagues, including serving as the communication liaison between CSBS and unit stakeholder communication teams.
    • Work within and contribute to CSBS project management systems.
    • Hire, train, and supervise student and hourly communication staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years (36 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and/or managing marketing/communication strategies.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close date. The budgeted salary range for the position is $50,000 to $65,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
