Job Summary
The office manager will maintain and enhance the strong customer service relationship between the Economics' Business Office and unit employees, visitors, and campus/area services by providing high-level support in business office and event areas.Duties & Responsibilities
Business Operations and Events
- Prepare foreign and domestic reimbursement expense reports for employees and non-employees.
- Serve as first point of contact for all reimbursement inquiries and issues.
- Serves as primary Business Office contact for department visitors, informing guests of university travel and reimbursement policies; this position is the department's primary travel credit card (T-Card) holder.
- Arrange lodging for all seminar guests.
- Arrange travel and lodging for all distinguished guests and, upon request, for faculty.
- Serve as departmental event coordinator for annual and intermittent events and conferences arranging all aspects of each event and attending events in most cases, this may require minimal evening and weekend attendance.
- Serve as the department contact for the phone line and phone tree management system. Complete annual audit of phone lines.
Facilities
- In collaboration with unit colleagues, manage long-term Facilities and Services projects such as renovations and office moves/space reassignment.
- Submit inventory surplus and scrap disposal requests and update new inventory acquisitions in Fabweb.
- Maintain the Building Emergency Action Plan.
- Other duties as assigned to further the mission of the unit.
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to the third level of this series.

- Preferably skilled in Adobe Acrobat, cloud storage, and survey/form creation.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 3266 - Office Manager position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline date. The collective bargaining agreement sets a wage of $46,975.50.This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (remote work and in-person work in Champaign-Urbana each week) after an initial on-site training period, per the University of Illinois workplace flexibility guidelines https://cam.illinois.edu/policies/hr-87-2/ Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
