The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is accepting applications for a Coordinator for Campus Visits in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Coordinator for Campus Visits leads the daily campus visit recruitment program, advancing the Office of Undergraduate Admission's mission to attract, engage, and enroll future students. This position designs and delivers a visit experience that is both welcoming and strategically aligned with recruitment goals. Responsibilities include hiring, training, supervising, and developing 75+ student leaders who serve as ambassadors, ensuring prospective and admitted students gain meaningful insights into the university's academic strengths, community, and culture. By creating an immersive, student-centered environment, this role directly contributes to influencing students' college decision-making and strengthening yield outcomes.Duties & Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Develop and execute a recruitment plan for the campus visit program utilizing best practices and current trends for prospective and admitted students
- Represent Illinois at daily visit events and advise students, parents and other attendees on the admissions process and Illinois community
- Build relationships with high schools and youth organizations through outreach, advising, and programming
- Develop and host the group visit experience to provide counsel to prospective students and high school counselors through creative, adaptive programming
- Counsel prospective and admitted students on the admissions process through phone calls, emails, and walk-in appointments
- Travel and advise prospective students and family about Illinois and the application process at on-campus and off-campus fairs and events
Campus Visits
- Foster a welcoming community and experience for prospective and admitted students attending recruitment and yield events
- Coordinate the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of undergraduate student paraprofessional staff assisting in the planning and execution of admissions programming; student staff includes 20-60 tour guides, 8-10 senior staff, and 4-8 intern positions as part of a 3-tier work progression model
- Empower student success by implementing and innovating a student employee development model providing supervision, mentorship, and professional development
- In conjunction with the Assistant Director for Campus Visits, plan, execute, and evaluate large-scale campus visit programming, and utilize a strategic lens to develop targeted initiatives supporting the office mission and goals
- In collaboration with the Office of Communication for Enrollment Management (OCEM), prepare presentations and talking points for campus information sessions.
- Assist in training new and current professional staff members and provide regular feedback
Application Review
- Chair an Admissions Review Committee for the first-year applicant cycle
- Review applicant files for admission to Illinois, reading essays and evaluating transcripts
- Make final admission decisions on applicants in your committee
- Track admission and yield targets for your committee
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least one year of professional experience in admissions, recruitment, student affairs, or related field. Each year of graduate-level experience equals ½ year professional experience
- Demonstrated experience supervising or mentoring students or employees
- Demonstrated experience in customer service, hospitality, or public speaking
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in student training
- Demonstrated experience in event or program planning
- Two or more years of professional experience
- Master's degree

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The budgeted salary range for this position is $48,000 - $52,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints.
