Job Summary
This Visiting Research Technician will be responsible for assisting with genotyping and phenotyping plants. They will work on research with the postdoc research associate leading the investigation of stomata and water use efficiency.Duties & Responsibilities
- Screening plants via genotyping and phenotyping.
- Maintaining plants in greenhouse and growth chambers for experimentation.
- Phenotyping traits related to stomata, photosynthesis, and water use efficiency.
Additional Physical Demands
Work may be performed in greenhouses, laboratories, and field environments.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a biological sciences field, with a strong background in Molecular Biology or Physiology. Proficiency in genotyping via PCR and copy number analysis; propagation of plants in controlled environments; and experience in assessing plant traits and characteristics, including growth, development, and stress responses.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate-level degree in a biological sciences field. Background in stomatal biology preferred. Experience with high throughput phenotyping equipment and image analysis, utilizing leaf gas exchange equipment to measure and analyze plant performance, and proficiency in statistical analysis.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Visiting Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 9/16/2025. The budgeted salary range is $40,000 to $50,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
