Job Summary
Member of a team that partners with Gies faculty to design and conduct in-person, online, and hybrid delivery of high-quality learning experiences. Assist faculty in teaching interactive synchronous online class sessions and are key to enabling outstanding experiences for students. Review synchronous class (Live Session) plans and learning materials, use online meeting technology to manage breakout rooms, polls, files, videos, chat, and coordinate with other staff participating in the session. Contribute to data-gathering and analysis to improve the quality of the learning experience and support growth of online programs. Work in a full-focus environment where attention to detail, planning, quick resolution of support needs, and professionalism are crucial to the success of our faculty and thousands of students in our flagship online programs.Duties & Responsibilities
Live Session Preparation & Facilitation
- Prepare for and oversee the execution of live sessions.
- Ensure the accessibility and quality of teaching materials.
- Facilitate online classes, webinars, and events.
- Collaborate with faculty and studio personnel for session preparation.
- Review weekly plans provided by instructor(s) to prepare for Live Session
- Support students, faculty and staff during Live Sessions
Learning Experience Analysis
- Observe and evaluate live sessions based on established protocols.
- Analyze performance data for continuous improvement.
- Log and address technical and pedagogical issues.
Training
- Train faculty and staff in using web conferencing technology.
- Onboard and train new student workers.
Other Duties
- Engage in professional development.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of one year experience with online conferencing software and troubleshooting basic technical problems
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience:
Experience working in higher education or corporate customer service; help desk support
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong customer support skills, excellent communication, time management, problem-solving abilities, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of best practices in training and large-scale course support, familiarity with business education, and ability to work with remote collaborators.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after search close date. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience while also considering internal equity. The budgeted salary for this position is $57,000 to $59,000.
Hybrid work options may be available for this position; however, must be available to be onsite at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus based on operational needs.
