Job Summary

Provide direct mental health support to Illinois Neurodiversity Initiative students and supervise graduate students in the MSW program.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Mental Health Service Provider
    • Provide neurodiversity-affirming mental health services to students in the Illinois Neurodiversity Initiative (INI).
    • Collaborate with UIUC Autism Clinic for INI mental health programming.
    • Manage scheduling and attendance of INI students.
    • Develop system of HIPAA compliant LCSW documentation of services.
  • Graduate student practicum supervision • Supervise clinical placement of MSW graduate student in neurodiversity-affirming mental health support. • Develop instructional system for training in provision of mental health services in this setting. • Meet documentation requirements of the UIUC School of Social Work.

Minimum Qualifications

Current license in Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Masters in Social Work (MSW) or a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). At least 1 year experience practicing mental health service provision, either as a graduate student or professional.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with direct services to neurodivergent individuals. Knowledge and practice of neurodiversity-affirming counseling practices. Experience working on a multidisciplinary team. Availability after regular working hours or on weekends.

Appointment Information

This is a part-time academic hourly position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 8/1/2025. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position. The budgeted salary range for the position is $35-$40/hour.
