Job Summary
Support and grow constituent engagement strategies that foster connection and philanthropic support in the digital space. This role will be responsible for developing vibrant alumni communities on digital platforms (i.e. ThankView, Crowdfunding, GiveCampus) and managing digital fundraising initiatives for our constituents.Duties & Responsibilities
- Digital Fundraising
o Oversee digital fundraising and engagement initiatives to acquire, renew, and retain donors.
o Collaborate with Marketing Communications and other college partners and manage fundraising platform development on Giving Day campaigns.
o Implement engagement initiatives around crowdfunding campaigns.
o Liaise with Alumni Engagement, Stewardship, Data Scientist, and other partners on developing fundraising opportunities in the digital realm.
o Liaise with software partners to manage execution of online fundraising best practices.
o Stay abreast of industry best practices, within higher education, on online platforms and digital alumni engagement.
- Data Analytics
o Capture and analyze constituent engagement data in online fundraising campaigns to gauge performance and success.
o Assist in the development, tracking, and reporting of engagement data and metrics. This includes maintaining confidential and accurate records of interactions with alumni and constituents in the University of Illinois Foundation Tracking and Engagement Database (TED).
o Utilize data and metrics to advise leadership regarding strategy on advancing the fundraising goals of the college.
- Digital Constituent Engagement
o Contribute to the strategy and manage constituent engagement participation on advancement digital community platforms.
o Build out experiences for our alumni community and develop digital communities where our alumni want to engage.
o Respond and adapt to digital alumni engagement trends, staying current on the most effective and innovative tools in this space.
- Event and Program Communication
o Assist in the communication strategy on constituent engagement events, programs, and initiatives targeting the alumni community and donor base.
o Manage communications in collaboration with Marketing Communications on crowdfunding campaigns
- Additional Constituent Engagement Activities
o Consult on and contribute to advancement projects that support the college’s strategic priorities
Specialty Factors
Bachelor’s degree
One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in alumni annual giving, alumni engagement, fundraising, communications, or a related professional area.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
• At least 2 years of experience in digital fundraising and annual giving.
• Experience planning and leading community initiatives.
• Experience with analyzing social media and web analytics using tracking platforms like Google Analytics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- • Ability to identify and track relevant constituent engagement and fundraising KPIs. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Cross-team collaboration and relationship building skills. • Ability to interact with people online, to grow a community and nurture it, especially in collaboration with other members of the community. • Project management skills.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search close date. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The budgeted salary range for the position is $60,000 to $64,000. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
