Job Summary
Support the outreach efforts of the Autism Program at UIUC through community service and outreach, resource room coordination, and grant management and reporting.Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as coordinator for the TAP Resource Center or for UIUC TAP. • Connect individuals and families to supports available from professional agencies and organizations in the community. • Provide autism consultations to individuals and families referencing best-practice strategies according to professional experience/discipline. • Develop and implement individual and group skilled evidence-based autism interventions according to professional experience/discipline. • Provide instruction and/or supervision to undergraduate or master’s level students in autism and autism supports according to professional experience/licensure. • Catalog, monitor, and evaluate all resource room materials. • Direct/supervise online and social media presence for TAP.
- Assist TAP Director and Associate Director in data collection, reporting, grant management, community outreach, and program development.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s in a field relevant to working with children and adults on the autism spectrum and their families (e.g., social work, psychology, human development and family studies, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, special education). Current certification and/or licensing in their respective field, as applicable. At least 2 years of research, clinical practice, and/or direct support of individuals on the autism spectrum and other disabilities and their families. Experience with developing and delivering education/training (classroom teaching, supervising interns or volunteers, community training).
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual-Spanish speaking; Knowledge/experience with collecting and disseminating topic-specific community resources; experience with website/social media maintenance and engagement; experience with implementation of evidence-based individual or group autism supports; work experience with autism supports in the school setting (IEP, 504), work experience with connecting to community resources and services.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 11/5/2024. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position. This position may become permanent depending on funding and needs of the department. The budgeted salary range for the position is $60,000 to $65,000. Work for this position will be expected to work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus on a full-time basis per the University's Workplace Flexibility Policy.
