Tenure-Track or Clinical Track Assistant Professor in Equine Theriogenology
Full-time, 100% (12-month basis)
Job Description: Upon joining our Equine Medicine and Surgery service, the successful candidate will be expected to provide clinical service in equine theriogenology. The equine medicine and surgery team at Illinois’ College of Veterinary Medicine is composed of a highly productive and dynamic group of specialists who have achieved excellence in the different arenas of comparative and clinical research. The candidate will be expected to contribute to clinical instruction of interns and veterinary students, and communicate effectively with clients and referring veterinarians. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in clinically and scientifically relevant research projects. Candidates interested in collaborative research will find ample opportunities to partner within our thriving faculty as well as with basic science investigators on our main campus.
Illinois is highly focused on faculty development and growth and will provide support for equipment and training to candidates with special interests or skills in any of these fields. Percent time dedicated to teaching, scholarly activities, and clinical service will be based on the successful candidate’s appointment title.
Requirements: The successful candidate must have a DVM degree or equivalent and have achieved ACT certification. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced degree(s), a track record in scholarship, and/or prior research training.
