Littelfuse is looking for an experienced product developer engineer who has knowledge of innovation and new technology projects. They will provide experience in the development of fuse or industrial circuit protection products.

Job Description

  • Design, build, and test new product design concepts and manage new product introductionsAssist with new product development programs including designing mechanical specifications and producing prototypes Develop prints, design & process FMEA’s, cost estimates, etc. Build, test, and evaluate design concepts. Participate in the design verification and validation programs by developing test plans, coordinating test programs, and identifying design improvement opportunities. Provide weekly progress updates and participate in new product meetings

  • Evaluate existing Fuse Product lines and identify design modifications for Cost Reduction and/or Performance Improvement

  • Research new technology and new materials.

  • Identify new materials or new technologies and explore possibilities of applying to new Littelfuse products.

  • Procure samples, build prototypes, and conduct tests.

  • Prepare reports and recommendations.

  • Interface with Customers to define applications and fuse requirements and identify product design opportunities and solutions

Requirements

  • B.S. E.E. or B.S. M.E. recommended or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ experience designing Electrical Power Fuses and/or Accessories
  • Knowledge of fuse design (or other circuit protection components)
  • Knowledge of third-party agency approval processes and relevant standards
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes
  • Experience with UL or equivalent approval-type agencies
  • Project Management experience
  • Computer word processing and spreadsheet experience necessary.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good problem solving & research skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent and Inventor or other 3D cad software
  • Past research experience is a plus
