Tiptek, LLC’s product lines of probes and needles are used by industry leaders in semiconductor development and manufacturing for chip failure analysis. They are also used in the field of scanning probe microscopy and in applications that require electrical characterization and manipulation of objects on the nanometer scale. About the Role
Tiptek is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician (LT) to join our growing team. The LT will play a key role in the electrochemical production and quality assessment of small metal parts used in semiconductor failure analysis. The LT will work in a small, collaborative team environment and contribute to the production of high-quality products that support advanced semiconductor manufacturing and research.
This position requires working effectively in a small team environment and performing standard operating procedures to strict quality standards. The PT is responsible for the safe handling of chemical etching solutions, performing product quality-control assessments, and tracking inventory. This position requires good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for the safe handling of small parts. The LT will be trained to verify and characterize Tiptek products via scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and will be cross trained in certain other company production operations.
Skills and Qualifications
- A.S. or B.S. degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience working in a science or engineering laboratory preferred, especially familiarity with protocols for safe handling and disposal of chemicals.
- Experience with SEM desired but not required.
Responsibilities
- Follow established methods, safety policies, standard operating procedures, and other provided instructions.
- Manage multi-step tasks with strong attention to detail.
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
- Prepare chemical solutions and handle reagents safely.
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
- Characterize and qualify products using optical and scanning electron microscopy.
- Monitor equipment performance by performing quality checks at specified intervals.
- Record daily production activities, maintain accurate logs, label materials, and track inventory in accordance with quality management standards.
- Contribute effectively in a small team environment.
- Support a high-throughput production environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including cross-training in additional production operations.
