Job Summary
This position will support the Illinois Center for Transition and Work (ICTW). Primary duties include designing innovative training materials, promoting the ICTW via social media and website presence, implementing strategic communications, and communicating and collaborating with team members within and outside of the project.Duties & Responsibilities
- Graphic Design and Web Development
• Develop, design, and maintain the ICTW website.
• Design print and digital training materials, including research briefs, case studies, fact sheets and presentations.
• Design print and electronic marketing and communication materials, including brochures, newsletters, targeted mass emails, and signage.
• Create content and graphics for ICTW social media accounts, and maintain social media communications.
• Design templates and web structures that create a positive and efficient user experience.
• Employ current and best practice methods for universally designing websites and materials.
• Collaborate with the College of Education Marketing and Communications Office to align with college and university branding guidelines and marketing strategies, and to strategize and amply ICTW presence.
• Serve as a consultant to ICTW staff on matters of a design nature.
• Monitor the performance of marketing initiatives and provide reports/metrics/analytics of marketing and communications campaigns, and website usage. - Administration
• Coordinate and market regional statewide trainings and conferences.
• Assist in the organization and management of communication mailing lists according to campus and college guidelines.
• Work with university-approved vendors to produce materials and maintain supply inventory.
• Assist with processing travel requests and reimbursements for ICTW staff
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, marketing, business administration, public relations, or closely related field.
One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in graphic design, communications, marketing, public relations, or brand management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree.
- Experience in graphic design.
- Experience formatting professional presentations and online surveys.
- Experience maintaining websites and digital platforms.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and accessibility relating to content.
- Proficiency in a Content Management System (e.g. Sitefinity, Wordpress, Drupal).
- Strong design and writing skills in relationship to web pages and the online environment.
- Experience with technology (Microsoft Office Suite).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability in decision-making.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills, including the ability to interact effectively with team members and university staff.
- Attention to detail, adaptability, and dependability.
- Able to independently travel around the state to support grant related activities.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. Position is based on campus with the possibility of a hybrid agreement. The expected start date is as soon as possible after closing. Salary is commensurate with experience.
