As the community center of the University, the Illini Union draws together all members of the University with approximately 16,000 visits of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests on a daily basis. Job Summary

The Distribution Clerk picks up and delivers customer proofs and jobs for Document Services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute pickup and delivery for all Document Services’ units.
  • Accelerate pickup and delivery for “rush” requests.
  • Document daily activity on delivery logs accurately and completely.
  • Communicate with supervisor on pick-up or delivery for alternative solutions if task cannot be completed as specified.
  • Understand the layout of the Urbana campus streets and buildings, noting changes as they occur.
  • Observe all university and local traffic regulations while operating university vehicles.
  • Always demonstrates professionalism as expected of a representative of Document Services. Represents Illini Union Document Services at departmental and campus events. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Physical Demands

• Must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions and navigate campus traffic and parking. Most work will begin in the production environment; however, a great deal of moving between the office area, production areas, and storage areas is required.
• Must be able to work under pressure in stressful situations and be able to manage numerous projects simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Possession of a valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of campus layout and basic customer services skills.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Current State of Illinois Driver’s License
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 0764 - Distribution Clerk position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 11/6/2023. Salary for this position is expected to be $33,000 per year. This position usually works a Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
