The Department of Educational Psychology seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate ranked position in counseling psychology. This is a full-time, specialized faculty (non-tenure track), academic year, nine-month position.

The Division of Counseling Psychology is one of four divisions in the Department of Educational Psychology: Counseling Psychology, Cognitive Science of Teaching and Learning (CSTL), Developmental Sciences, and Quantitative and Qualitative Methodology, Measurement, and Evaluation (Queries). Position responsibilities: The successful applicant will be expected to advise and provide clinical supervision and instruction to students enrolled in the new, growing M.S. in Mental Health Counseling Program within the Division of Counseling Psychology, as well as act in an administrative capacity for the master’s and doctoral clinical fieldwork experience. Priority will be given to candidates who have clinical supervision experience and expertise in the areas of addiction treatment, family therapy, psychopathology and/or theories of counseling and psychotherapy.

Qualifications: Candidate must hold an earned doctoral degree in counseling psychology, developmental psychology, clinical psychology, educational psychology, or a related field; all-but-dissertation candidates will be considered. Candidates who are licensed or license-eligible to practice in the State of Illinois are desirable. The successful applicant at the assistant professor level will demonstrate strong potential for teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, supervising, advising, and program administration. The successful applicant at the associate level will be licensed in the State of Illinois or license-eligible with demonstrated experience in teaching, supervising, advising, and program administration.

Salary and Starting Date: Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. The proposed starting date is January 16, 2024.
