The Department of Educational Psychology seeks applications for an open-ranked position in counseling psychology. This is a full-time, tenure-track, academic year, nine-month position.

The Division of Counseling Psychology is one of four divisions in the Department of Educational Psychology: Counseling Psychology, Cognitive Science of Teaching and Learning (CSTL), Developmental Sciences, and Quantitative and Qualitative Methodology, Measurement, and Evaluation (Queries). Position responsibilities: The specific substantive area of interest in counseling psychology is open but may include topics such as vocational/career, psychotherapy process and outcome, and assessment. The successful applicant will be expected to advise doctoral students in the Division of Counseling Psychology and to assume an active role as a responsible member of the College’s scholarly community. Priority will be given to candidates who have an interest in leadership opportunities within the Division.

Qualifications: Candidates must hold an earned doctoral degree in counseling psychology or closely related field; all-but-dissertation candidates will be considered. Candidates should also have a commitment to equity in teaching and research. Candidates who are licensed or license-eligible to practice in the State of Illinois are desirable. The successful applicant at the assistant professor level will demonstrate strong potential for developing an independent research program and strong accomplishments in teaching. The successful applicant at the associate or full levels will have a track record of sustained productivity in a significant program of research, including a consistent record of peer-reviewed publications, success in securing external funding, leadership experience, and a strong and successful graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring record.

Salary and Starting Date: Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. The proposed starting date is August 16, 2024.
