SUMMARY
Y on the Fly seeks to deliver programming experience directly to communities outside of the Y’s current branch and will allow the Y to serve more neighborhoods and more youth than ever before. Y on the Fly takes games and activities into the community for children and youth to enjoy.
The Y on the Fly Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a supportive and positive atmosphere. The Supervisor is responsible for the proper set up/clean-up of the Y on the Fly equipment. This person is also responsible for safely monitoring all Y on the Fly activities and enforcing all rules and policies at all times. The Y on the Fly Supervisor will exemplify the Stephens Family YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The Supervisor will interact appropriately with participants and families and be a good role model at all times.
KNOW - HOW
The Y on the Fly Supervisor must be CPR/AED certified within 60 days of employment. Incumbents must be able to work with all ages of youth and their families at the site locations. The Y on the Fly Supervisor must be able to respond to any situation in a professional and respectful manner. They must be able to do the various task of this job with little or no supervision from the Y on the Fly Director
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This is a very active job and that requires consistent walking and engagement with children.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creating weekly activity schedules for participants.
- Responsible for Opening and closing procedures ( i.e. proper set up, clean-up and maintenance of the equipment)
- Responsible for properly supervising participants during programming hours to ensure all rules and policies are followed.
- Ensure YMCA program standards are met and all safety procedures are followed.
- Supervisor is responsible for directly notifying the Program Coordinator immediately of any/all maintenance/safety issues as well as severe behavior issues.
- Responsible for keeping attendance records, making sure all participants have a participant packet on file.
- ?nforming the Program Coordinator on any supplies ( snack, craft etc.) needed.
- Supervise teen participants during programs and events to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere by addressing any conflicts or issues promptly and appropriately.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to teen participants, fostering personal growth, teamwork and educational growth.
- Safely transport participants from school to program location.

- Must be 21+ years of age
- Experience working with young teens (middle schoolers)
- Valid drivers license
