This position is responsible for preparing, finishing, and painting drywall surfaces in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. This role includes repairing wall imperfections, applying primers and paint, and ensuring a smooth, professional finish that meets project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare drywall surfaces by sanding, patching, mudding, and cleaning walls and ceilings
- Repair cracks, holes, dents, and other surface imperfections
- Apply primer, paint, texture, and finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Match paint colors and finishes according to customer or project requirements
- Protect floors, furniture, and surrounding areas with coverings and tape
- Operate and maintain painting and drywall tools safely
- Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Read blueprints, work orders, or project instructions when needed
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years’ Experience with drywall finishing and painting techniques
- Knowledge of surface preparation and paint application methods
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Physical ability to stand, climb ladders, lift materials, and work overhead
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous construction or painting experience
- Experience with texture spraying and finishing
- Valid driver’s license
Work Environment
- Residential homes, commercial buildings, and construction sites
- May involve working at heights, in dusty conditions, or in varying temperatures
