JOB SUMMARY - The Express Merchandiser’s primary duty is to professionally execute Pepsi Cola’s marketing strategies while maintaining proper service levels within assigned accounts.
- Focus on safely, effectively, and efficiently maintaining the stock levels of the shelf, cooler, displays, back rooms, and P.O.P. The Express Merchandiser must be focused on providing Pepsi-Cola Champaign-Urbana with profitable growth through the sale and efficient distribution of our refreshing beverages, superior customer service and innovative customer focused marketing programs.
- Actively maintaining a good working relationship with all store employees and representing Pepsi-Cola in a positive light.
- The Express Merchandiser must be conscious of rotation of product in assigned accounts. Making sure out of date product does not fall into the hands of customers.
- An Express Merchandiser will need to communicate with the assigned stores on said route along with the Express Sales Manager and will have to complete tasks including display builds, date audits, and overall cleaning of assigned accounts.
- Express Merchandisers are responsible for cleaning of warm shelfs and coolers.
REQUIREMENTS - High School diploma.
- Ability to speak read and write the English language.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
- Must possess a valid state Driver’s License and maintain personal auto insurance with all DMV, medical and legal clearances to provide for and allow use of said license. Drivers with any of the following are ineligible for hire or continued employment because they will be declared as uninsurable by our insurance company:
- License suspended or revoked in the last 3 years.
- Alcohol-related conviction (DWI, open container, etc.) in the last 5 years.
- Vehicular homicide, assault, or manslaughter conviction.
- “Hit and Run” or “leaving the scene” conviction.
- Reckless Driving conviction
- Careless Driving conviction.
- Financial responsibility filing
- No valid license for state of residence
- Speeding in excess of 20 mph conviction in the last 3 years.
- Must have realizable transportation to service customers.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of customer service skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Repetitive lifting of 50 pounds from floor to waist, chest, or shoulder height; pulling cart with load weighing up to 220 pounds.
- Applicant must be physically able to lift 31 to 40 pounds about sixty times per hour; 11 to 20 pounds about 20 times an hour over 50 pounds is around six times an hour.
