Summary:

This is an onsite position located in Champaign, IL.

The Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for assisting clients with troubleshooting of servers, routers, firewalls, switches, laptops, workstations, phones, and cloud services. Network Technician II supports our customers at their business site or remote access maintaining established goals for Service Levels. This position will require proficiency with networking, client operating systems, network security, and cloud services to assist customers and collaborate with co-workers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide customers with technology solutions – listen closely to their requirements
• Design and install network hardware components, connections, and cabling
• Troubleshoot and evaluate system failures and identify roadblocks in the network
• Fix problems in LAN infrastructure and test and configure systems software
• Maintain and repair hardware including peripheral devices, ie wireless networks
• Schedule upgrades and maintenance without interrupting business workflow
• Provide technical direction to customer IT resources about interfacing to our systems
• Participate in customer deployments, both network and systems equipment
• Work with Vendors / Purchasing to get needed equipment if not in corporate stock
• Monitor network access and traffic to ensure security standards
• Identify and escalate any issues with products or services impacting customers
• Ability to manage multiple client tickets simultaneously – document and close
• Answer client questions about network usage and function
• Provide monthly reports for Server Maintenance and Firewall Activity, daily status on back-ups

Qualifications:

• Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field preferred
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Certified network professional accreditation preferred
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Superior knowledge of various networking technologies
• Solid communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with managing licensing and certificates on equipment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Aptitude for customer support
• Certifications: CompTIA A+
• Fortigate training levels 1-3 completion
• Completion of How to Build a PC [2022] – Beginners to Intermediate
• Apple Mac Basics – The Complete Course for beginners
• Completion of N-able training

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
