Position Summary:

A NOC Engineer 2 designs, implements, and troubleshoots diverse networks used to support Pavlov Media customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership

Train and mentor new Pavlov Media field technicians
Train and mentor new Pavlov Media NOC technicians
Lead and manage internal project initiatives
Share information and provide feedback to internal teams on a consistent basis
Assist with upkeep on network documentation and product training materials
Ensure that network quality meets Pavlov Media standards
Serve as an escalation point for all network related issues

Customer Service

Maintain a customer first attitude to ensure customer satisfaction
Maintain personal relationships and good communication with property staff, clients, and sub-contractors
Provide remote support to field technicians.
Assist with resident escalations.
Escalate site outage issues to appropriate parties and communicate outages with customers and property staff
Field all calls, emails, and work orders from Pavlov Media HQ

Technical Ability

Understand network diagrams and technical manuals.
Demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills and the ability to use them.
Troubleshoot network routers, switches, and wireless equipment.
Troubleshoot video head ends, receivers, amps, and dishes.
Monitor and analyze protocol communication to determine issues.
Assist in design reviews for the new technologies.
Coordinate upgrades and replacement of equipment at locations.
Work with Pavlov Media construction teams to deploy infrastructure solutions
Provides technical, procedural, and product guidance to field technicians and contractors.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
Seven (7) years of experience designing and troubleshooting LAN configurations.
Seven (7) years of experience designing and troubleshooting 802.11 Wireless configurations.
Seven (7) years of experience designing and troubleshooting WAN configurations.
Three (3) years of successful deployment and project management experience.
Routing Protocol Experience: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, EVPN, VPN, MPLS, IPIP, and others…
Switching Protocol Experience: VLANs, Spanning Tree, VxLAN, Q-in-Q, LLDP, ARP, port isolation, and others…
Other Experience: DNS, DHCP, SNMP, RADIUS, 802.11, WISPr, SSH, Telnet, NAT, ACL, and others…

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Strong knowledge of routers, switches, wireless, fiber optics and other technical devices used in networks.
Strong knowledge of video solutions from DISH Network and DirectTV.
Ability to install and troubleshoot fiber optic transmitters.
Strong knowledge of GPON network architecture.
Strong knowledge of video encryption protocols.
Strong knowledge of IPTV architectures.
Strong knowledge of video plant components.
Strong knowledge of IoT components.
Ability to troubleshoot RF issues on a video network.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows (7, 8 or 10) Macintosh.
