About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician at Maverick Pipe, a partner of Zekelman Industries, in Rantoul, IL, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing production equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys solving mechanical and electrical problems, and values a strong safety culture.

Shift:

Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Sun-Wed OR Wed-Sat. Employees work every other Wednesday.

Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Sun-Wed OR Wed-Sat. Employees work every other Wednesday.

Pay: $31.00 – 35.00/Hour

What You’ll Do

• Performs electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment – ensures uptime, safety, and compliance with LOTO procedures
• Monitors inventory of parts and supplies – maintains adequate stock for ongoing maintenance operations
• Uses manual and computerized maintenance systems – inspects, tracks, and reports equipment status
• Reads blueprints, manuals, and schematics – diagnoses and repairs production machinery effectively
• Troubleshoots and resolves quality, electrical, and mechanical issues – escalates when necessary
• Performs breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance – supports equipment reliability and production goals
• Fabricates repair parts using machine tools – ensures custom fit and quality fixes
• Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment – supports material handling and repair tasks
• Complies with OSHA and company safety standards – promotes a safe work environment
• Supports continuous improvement efforts – contributes to process and performance enhancements

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably in equipment maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, apprenticeship, or military service preferred
• Skilled in electrical systems, PLCs, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong math and communication skills
• Willing to undergo job-related testing, physical exam, and drug screening
• Team-oriented with a proactive, safety-first mindset

Physical Abilities

• Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds
• Stands or walks for long periods throughout the shift
• Bends, twists, stoops, sits, kneels, crawls, and reaches in all directions as needed
• Performs physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment
