The Production Supervisor – 3rd Shift is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations while promoting a culture of safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork. This position supervises production employees, coordinates workflow, and ensures production goals are achieved efficiently and safely. As the primary leadership presence on the overnight shift, the Production Supervisor must demonstrate strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills while serving as a liaison between employees and management. Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Lead and supervise production employees to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
- Plan and coordinate staffing, work assignments, and production schedules.
- Monitor production processes and address issues impacting quality, efficiency, or delivery.
- Enforce company safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
- Train, coach, and develop employees on work procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
- Address employee concerns, performance issues, and workplace conflicts.
- Inspect materials, equipment, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Partner with engineering and other departments to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
- Ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available to support production requirements.
- Complete performance reviews, disciplinary documentation, attendance tracking, timecard approvals, and other supervisory responsibilities.
- Maintain production, labor, and operational records and prepare reports as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
- Ability to work in a drug-free workplace and pass required screenings.
Preferred - Conversational Spanish.
- Experience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. independently and more than 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to operate or work around manufacturing equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and typical manufacturing conditions.
- Frequent communication using radios and other communication devices.
Compensation & Benefits Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 annually Schedule: 3rd Shift (5-Day Workweek) Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM Overtime as required Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Basic Life, Voluntary Life, and 401(k) with Company Match up to 6%.
