About the Role:

The Building Maintenance Electrician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of electrical systems within commercial, residential, or industrial buildings. This position involves diagnosing electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing repairs to prevent system failures and hazards. The electrician will collaborate with maintenance teams to support building operations and ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. By proactively maintaining electrical infrastructure, the role helps minimize downtime and supports a safe environment for occupants and staff. Ultimately, the Building Maintenance Electrician contributes to the overall operational excellence and longevity of the facility’s electrical systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid electrician license or certification as required by the state.
  • Proven experience as a building maintenance electrician or in a similar electrical maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and technical diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical training in electrical maintenance.
  • Experience working with building automation systems and energy management controls.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC electrical systems.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including wiring, lighting, circuit breakers, and control panels.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as testing electrical components and replacing worn or damaged parts to prevent failures.
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues to restore power and ensure safety.
