The full salary range for this position is $34,200 to $45,000 per year. The expected hiring salary range for this position is $35,360 to $39,520 per year.
Human Kinetics (HK) is headquartered in Champaign, IL. This position is fully onsite.

Job Summary
The Facilities Assistant is responsible for most interior and exterior building maintenance and for ensuring that the building and grounds are in order and good repair. The Facilities Assistant is required to be reachable by cell phone during work hours, as well as participating in the on call rotation and performing security checks. The Facilities Assistant may be asked to work evenings or weekends on occasion. The Facilities Assistant must have a valid Illinois driver’s license.
Essential Functions
- Performs basic mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on company property or equipment as needed or according to scheduled intervals.
- Performs basic electrical functions and repairs as assigned.
- Ensures the exterior of the building and grounds of complex is maintained well and remains in good repair.
- Ensures the interior of the building is maintained well and remains in good repair.
- Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC systems as needed.
- Oversees seasonal staff and ensures their work assignments are completed in accordance with HK standards.
- Maintains company vehicles, keeping them clean and in good working order.
- Works closely with Director, Shipping and Facilities to make recommendations for improvement, needed repairs, and/or organization to building & grounds.
- Performs office moves, rearranges office furniture as needed.
- Helps accurately maintain furniture database by recording office moves on forms to be entered into database.
Secondary Functions
- Performs security checks on assigned weekends and holidays.
- Takes part in on call rotation for emergency calls and perform security checks on site.
- Available for emergency on-call situations that could occur 24/7.
- Acts as back-up for Director when needed.
Job Qualifications
Minimally Required Education
High School Diploma / GED
Valid Illinois driver's license
Minimally Required Experience
1 year of related maintenance experience.
Basic knowledge of mechanics, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Preferred Experience
2+ years of related maintenance experience.

Job Demands
Office Equipment: Occasional use of computer and cell phone. Rare use of copier.
Mental Demands: Frequent problem-solving and organization skills required. Occasional need for making decisions, supervising, interpreting data, and reading/writing.
Working Conditions: Frequently in both indoor and outdoor environments, occasionally in both high and low temperatures. Rarely exposed to fumes or loud noises.
Field/Trade Equipment: Occasional use of mower, ladder, truck/auto, shovel/rake/mop, hand/power tools. Rare use of tiller and forklift.
Physical Demands: Frequent standing and walking. Occasional carrying and kneeling. Rarely will sitting, lifting 70 lbs, or driving be required.
