This is a full-time, on-site position at our Champaign, IL location. Working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
Typical pay for this position is $65,000-85,000/year. The final offer for this position will be based on the unique experience and qualifications of the candidate selected. This position may also be eligible for a bonus not included in the base pay range.
The Demand Planner role utilizes statistical modeling software to create item forecasts to estimate demand for our supply chain. Key to success for a Demand Planner is the ability to review statistical forecast models and apply error analysis techniques to advance forecasting results to consistently improve our organization’s ability to meet customer demand.
Responsibilities
- Execute Oracle Demand Planning monthly tuning process to develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns
- Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
- Monitor and report on significant changes in sales forecasts
- Address demand-related changes in a timely and effective manner
- Represent Demand Planning for respective product category at S&OP, Brand Marketing, and Go-To-Market meetings
- Perform ad hoc analyses as required
- Support standard reporting as required
- Participate in special projects as required
Education & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in related business field, i.e., Business Administration, Project Management, Statistics, or Finance.
Experience
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in demand planning, statistical analysis, data analytics, or project management is helpful, as is marketing and economic knowledge.
Skills
- Familiarity with statistics – a solid understanding of applied math and the statistical software programs used to create forecasts is vital
- Analytical thinking – an ability to analyze and use critical thinking skills on a regular basis is key
- Interpersonal skills – although demand planners complete a significant amount of their work independently, they must also interact with others who affect the forecasting process
- Creative thinking – the ability to think outside the box and devise creative solutions to various problems can be helpful
- Tools of the trade: Microsoft Office Suite (proficient in Excel); Oracle Demand Planning (other demand planning software); and Oracle Fusion Cloud (other ERP software)
